There are approximately 3,000 species of spiders in the United States with over 35,000 species found worldwide. Spiders feed on insects and other small arthropods. Black widow spiders and brown recluse spiders are considered to be the most dangerous within the United States. Spiders have two body regions connected by a small waist, eight legs and no antennae.
